Investment Models That Reduce the Housing Burden of Kosovo Households

Key Findings (2020): According to the most recent 2020 statistics in the relevant data set, 12.0% of households across Kosovo declared that they experienced physical/structural problems in their homes, such as leaking roofs, damp walls and floors, or rotten window frames. Change over the years: There is a rapid improvement trend in housing quality in Kosovo. While 22.1% (almost one fifth) of households experienced such structural problems in 2018, this rate decreased to 17.7% in 2019 and 12.0% in 2020. Regional Comparison: Housing problems in rural areas are more pronounced than in cities. While the rate of people experiencing these problems in urban (city) areas was 9.5% in 2020, this rate was 13.7% in rural areas. The decrease in the rural problem rate from 24.8% in 2018 to here shows that a serious individual construction/restoration investment has been made.
