This analysis is based on the Census_population__Languages spoken other than mother tongue by sex and age of population aged 15 y.csv file within the ASK (Kosovo Agency of Statistics) data sets and our demographic content plan. Key findings: English-Speaking Population: 254,474 persons aged 15+ can speak English. German-Speaking Population: 115,480 persons can speak German. Multilingualism (Polyglot) Capacity: 146,786 persons speak at least two foreign languages besides their mother tongue. Caution: The source data does not include detailed proficiency level breakdowns (A1 to C2); therefore, in-house language tests should also be conducted during recruitment for investments.
Language is the most important building block of outsourcing (BPO) and call center services. A pool of over 254 thousand English speakers and over 115 thousand German speakers means companies serving the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region and English-speaking global markets can easily source their personnel needs from within Kosovo. How does the bilingual population affect operations?
This means multinational companies can serve multiple geographic markets with a single support staff member. This is a concrete operational advantage that increases human resource efficiency. Which sectors does the foreign language-speaking working-age population support?
Not only call centers; software development, e-commerce platforms, virtual assistant services, digital marketing agencies, and international logistics firms also directly benefit from this talent pool.
