BRIEF SUMMARY Cardiovascular diseases in Kosovo are among the most critical, highest mortality risk, and therefore emergency intervention-requiring areas of the healthcare system. According to Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK) data, the number of coronary angiographies performed in public hospitals increased by 90% to over 4,000 annually from 2020 to 2023, while stent procedures grew by 205%. These data confirm that establishing a fully equipped private Cardiac Hospital with a 24/7 Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) and cardiovascular intensive care is the strongest opportunity in the market.
Our observation as t Venture team; Instead of building huge general hospitals, establishing Specialized Heart Hospitals (Boutique Hospitals) that focus only on the cardiovascular system increases operational profitability. State-of-the-art angiography units (Cath Lab) to be established in locations with high population density and purchasing power, such as the capital Pristina or Prizren, provide an extremely rapid return on investment (ROI) when combined with preventive cardiology (check-up) packages.
r Another huge opportunity in the cardiology market is the supply of devices and consumables (B2B/B2G). In a country where more than 3,500 stents are used; Being the distributor of drug-eluting stents, angio catheters and pacemakers creates a guaranteed cash flow. However, the entry of these medical products into the country and their participation in public tenders are subject to accreditation according to the standards of the Kosovo Medical Products Agency (AKPPM). It is mandatory for radiation emitting devices (Fluoroscopy/Angiography) to be used in the facility to obtain a double approved license from the Ministry of Environment and Health.
