An examination of the Prices__Monthly changes in CPI-IHCPI by main COICOP groups_ 2002M06 - 2026M02.csv file published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) reveals that month-over-month (monthly) changes in consumer prices contain clear seasonality in certain sectors: General HICP Monthly Fluctuation: Throughout 2024, the monthly inflation change moved within a very narrow band (between the lowest of -0.4% and the highest of 0.7%). In December 2024, the monthly price increase was recorded at 0.7%. Housing and Energy (Seasonal Heating Effect): In the No. 04 "Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels" group, noticeable cost increases occur as winter months approach. For example, in November 2024 a monthly increase of 1.4% was recorded, and in December 2024 a monthly price increase of 1.9% occurred. In contrast, as winter ended, prices in this group showed a sharp decline of 3.3% month-over-month in April 2024. Clothing and Footwear (Season Transitions): Price increases are observed during periods when new season products arrive on shelves. In March 2024, the monthly price increase in the clothing and footwear group was measured at 1.5%. Food Sector: Fluctuates in line with agricultural production cycles. In May 2024 food prices dropped 0.8% compared to the previous month, while in September 2024 they recorded a 1.1% increase.
