Based on Census_population__Data on the population and households in Kosovo for the years 2011 and 2024.csv and Number of households and individual per household 1921-2024.csv data files. Key findings: Decline in Average Household Size: The average persons per household dropped sharply from 5.90 in 2011 to 4.33 by 2024. Increase in Total Households: Despite shrinking average household size, total households rose from 297,090 in 2011 to 366,595 in 2024. In just 13 years, approximately 69,505 new households (a 23.4% increase) were established. Nuclear Family Transition Trend: The rise in household numbers despite overall population decline (from 1.7 million to 1.6 million) is statistical proof that adults are establishing their own homes and creating independent household economies. Caution: While this data shows the increase in household numbers, it cannot measure household disposable income and consumer confidence index alone; therefore, it is not sufficient for a sectoral investment decision, and purchasing power data must also be reviewed.

What does the shrinking household structure mean for retail and e-commerce?
The number of households exceeding the 366 thousand mark means direct market volume growth for companies producing or selling durable consumer goods such as refrigerators, televisions, and washing machines. Structures where 6 people previously shared a single appliance set are being replaced by nuclear family structures where fewer people purchase more products...
