DATA-DRIVEN ANALYSIS Based on the official data files Investments by economic activity_ 2018 - 2024.csv and New purchases_ imports and ongoing investments_ 2018 - 2024.csv, the investment performance of the Information and Communication Sector (Sector J) is as follows: Massive Surge in Total Investments (2023-2024): 2023: The Information and Communication Sector constituted only 1.00% of total enterprise investments in Kosovo. 2024: This ratio surged to 6.75% with extraordinary momentum, positioning the sector as one of the market's main players. Digital and Physical Asset Investments (2024): Intellectual Property (Software/R&D): 21.11% of all intellectual property investments across Kosovo were carried out by Sector J itself (this ratio was only 0.84% in 2023). Land (Tangible Asset) Acquisitions: Sector J single-handedly carried out 12.39% of all non-produced tangible asset (land) acquisitions made by enterprises across Kosovo. (This ratio was 1.03% in 2023). Machinery and Equipment (Hardware): 8.97% of total machinery and hardware investments nationwide belong to IT and communication firms. Fresh Capital and Imports: The sector accounted for 6.10% of total investment-purpose imports (servers, IT hardware, etc.) and 7.21% of new purchases across Kosovo in 2024.
