DATA-DRIVEN ANALYSIS Based on the official data files Investments by economic activity_ 2018 - 2024.csv and New purchases_ imports and ongoing investments_ 2018 - 2024.csv, the position of the Kosovo Construction and Contracting sector (Sector F) in fixed capital investments is as follows: Overall Investment Share: As of 2024, Sector F's (Construction) share within all enterprise investments in Kosovo was recorded at 12.03%. Heavy Machinery and Equipment Focus: 21.16% of total "Machinery and Equipment Investments" nationwide was carried out by construction sector companies themselves. This rate is the second-largest machinery/equipment procurement volume in the country, after the manufacturing industry (23.77%). New Purchases (Greenfield Capital Inflow): The construction sector single-handedly accounted for 14.38% of all "New Purchases" made by enterprises across Kosovo in 2024. Land and Own Facility Construction: Sector F accounts for 2.00% of nationwide land (non-produced tangible asset) acquisitions and 5.11% of construction investments directed at its own facilities. Trend Comparison: While Sector F's share in total investments was at an extraordinary 45.88% in 2020 (period of major public and infrastructure projects), this ratio consolidated to 21.95% in 2021 and 12.03% in 2024. Despite the proportional decline, the sector's mechanization appetite (21.16%) has remained extremely high.
