According to official data published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK) by first-instance court, the Ferizaj (Ferizovik) region has one of the highest judicial volumes in the country after Prishtina and Prizren. In 2024, 1,628 adult defendants were tried in Ferizaj Basic Court (central courthouse), and 1,330 received conviction decisions. The number of acquitted defendants remained at 41, and 80 indictments were rejected by the court. Of the 1,330 convicted, 1,260 were male and 70 were female. When examining the 2024 statistics of administrative and commercial branches affiliated with Ferizaj Basic Court, judicial oversight is quite strong. In particular, in the strategically positioned Kaçanik branch important for border trade, 363 of 439 defendants tried were convicted and only 19 were acquitted. In the Shtërpcë (Štrpce) branch, notable for winter tourism investments, 88 of 117 defendants tried were convicted and only 9 received acquittal decisions. It is statistically confirmed that the overwhelming majority of disputes brought to court across the entire basin result in sanctions.
