This article analyzes Kosovo public's short-term expectations for employment conditions over the next 6 months, using UNDP Public Pulse data covering 2011-2024. The data shows that over the past thirteen-year period, there has been a very serious decline in the proportion of the pessimistic segment expecting "deterioration" (unfavorable) in the employment market, replaced by "stability" (neither favorable nor unfavorable) expectations that the market will maintain its current state. For start-ups and retail firms seeking to enter the Kosovo market quickly and establish operations, this indicates that the short-term panic atmosphere in consumer confidence has dissipated and market psychology has stabilized. However, per Kosova Investment Joint Venture editorial principles, this psychological improvement toward the employment market does not directly provide commercial profitability, market guarantees, or workforce-finding guarantees; short and medium-term feasibility of investments must be separately evaluated by independent professionals
When examining the responses of Kosovo citizens to the question "What are your expectations regarding employment conditions in the next 6 months?", a distinct stabilization in short-term economic psychology is observed: Major Decline in Pessimism (Unfavorable): In March 2011, the percentage of men expecting employment to worsen in the next six months was 56.6%, while for women it was 41.2%, a high level. By May 2024, this pessimistic expectation had halved for men to 27.6% and declined to 30.1% for women. Stability/Neutral Expectation (Neither favourable, nor unfavourable): The proportion of those not expecting a major change (neither positive nor negative) in the employment market was 29.6% for men and 37.3% for women in 2011; by May 2024 this had risen to 53.7% for men and 56.9% for women, constituting the majority of society. Optimism (Favourable): The proportion of those who believe employment will improve has shown periodic fluctuations over the years but remained in a relatively horizontal and narrow band at 2011 (Men: 13.8%, Women: 21.4%) and 2024 (Men: 18.6%, Women: 13.1%)
